We've been trying out a little sunrise (OK, 9-AM-ish) yoga here at Camp Mom. Some mornings cousin Courtney joins us. Gracie follows along, for a bit, and then decides that she would like to "help" the big kids with their poses. And then mayhem ensues. Her favorite part is to crawl under everyone's downward facing dog, but I didn't catch a picture of that because I was trying to make sure she didn't get too squished. I love how, after she tackles Jack in this series of pictures, he regains his Zen like a true yogi. Om.
Yoga is an amazing way for kids to learn to control and coordinate their body movements and focus thier attention. I find that the effects are even more remarkable when we do yoga outsite. I guess since we're using yoga to get 'grounded,' it makes sense to get right down to earth, so to speak.
I also like that I get to squeeze in a little workout of my own. That is, until I get tackled by a baby. But, I must say, that's pretty great too.
What a wonderful idea to take them outside for yoga in the early morning! I do yoga with my children, but we've never done it outside. I think I'll try it this week. Thanks for sharing!
