It's been all pomp and circumstance around here since my (not so little anymore) little sister Megan graduated from college with countless honors, flying colors, thunderous applause... you name it. We are beyond the beyond proud of this fabulous gal. During her graduation, Jack had a 'Say Anything' moment where he stood on his chair holding a chalkboard sign we made with true Lloyd Dobbler-esque aplomb. He's always called Megan "MEGA," as in MEGA-COOL, MEGA-FUN, MEGA-AWESOME.... And oh, does the mega-moniker seems to fit now more than ever.
When Megan left for college, I gave her a little camping compass to (symbolically) help guide her in the right direction, with the promise that I would give her a real compass on her graduation. Luckily I found this heirloom-worthy compass. We gave it to her complete with map-giftwrap and some pithy quotes presented message-in-a-bottle style.
Happy tears all around (mostly mine). Today's Megan's twenty-second birthday {woot!} and I can assure you she is certainly set to take the world by storm. I have no worries that she has all the tools she needs, symbolic and otherwise, to plot her course, set her sails, and ride all the waves that a good & happy life have to offer.
GO MEGA!
