Copies of three of Jack's watercolor paintings: BROUGHT HOME FROM SCHOOL
Blank kraft-covered moleskine journals: $7.95 FOR 3
Spray adhesive: $3.99
Artful and heartfelt teacher gifts: PRICELESS (I'm hoping...)
Let me know if anyone wants a simple how-to!
Edited to add:
Here's the how-to:
I bought moleskine journals with kraft covers because they are matte, and I figured the glue would stick to them better than anything shiny.
Then I re-sized some of Jack's art on my printer/copier so that it was just slightly larger than the journals
I sprayed the back of the art with spray adhesive and sprayed the front cover of the journals too.
Then I stuck the picture on, and trimmed around the edges with an x-acto knife (a scissors would probably work too).
(One important note -- use the spray glue in a well ventilated area. Do not, for example, use it in your basement, especially if your doing this project at midnight the night before the last day of school. If you do, it will most certainly set off your carbon monoxide detector repeatedly, waking your exhausted husband and sleeping babes, until everyone in the house is thoroughly convinced that you have lost your mind with your crafty pursuits. Just saying.)
Let me know if you try it!
